Stephanie, Did you convert to DMC or did you use the floss it suggested? My friend got me the C chart for my birthday but I don’t have any of the floss it calls for.

I actually used the suggested Crescent colors. They weren’t exactly cheap, lol! The gold color had very subtle shading to it, you could barely tell. I did use DMC conversion instead of Smoke for the outline. Cloud was pretty much just plain white, if it had any shading I couldn’t really tell. Maybe just the faintest hint of a pale blue. The Hydrangea has very pale shading of white/pale blue/pale purple, I probably could have dyed that myself.
I think the Heatherleigh (Dress) and the Desert Mesquite (green part of greenery) had the most dramatic color changes, so if I redid this pattern, I would probably use just those original colors, and convert the others.
I think it would probably work fine if you just used DMC for everything except maybe the colors with the bigger color changes. That way you could get away with just getting a few of the colors. I’d definitely do all the outline in the DMC.
