Dye Jobs

Here’s some fabrics that I have hand dyed, mostly linen and evenweave.  I dye as the whim takes me, so I don’t keep records of what I’ve done.  I just find it interesting to see what effect different methods have on the finished piece, and occasionally just feel like throwing some colors together and seeing what happens. Hover over image for brief explanation of how I dyed the fabric.

You should put a price under the ones you don’t want to keep, they are really interesting! I especially like the top middle one, which is funny cause its not colours I usually like 😀

Yeah, I liked how that one came out. I experimented with speckling the dye powder on the fabric, and then wetting it. It gave it a nice firework effect. I want to stitch a phoenix or something on that one. 😀

Ok Stephanie, please explain how to use the shaving cream and paint brush to me. Do you mix the dye in the shaving cream?
